Only a matter of hours now as we wait at the Calgary Airport. We were awoken at about 12:30 a.m. to a very loud buzzing alarm and after several unsuccessful attempts at trying to turn off the alarm clock on the bedside stand it was evident that was not the source. It was the septic tank alarm in the basement warning us that we were dangerously close to a rather nasty situation. This is common for us in the winter and spring, the joys of living with a septic system in a boggy area. After struggling with this and several calls to the pumper truck, this summer we had this rectified and had a bypass installed. So despite the dangerously close call, we went out this morning, turned the valve on the bypass and resolved the situation! Terry and Alison, our wonderful neighbours, (we will sabotage your sale . . . . somehow :-) ) dropped by this morning and got the run-down on the workings of the place, then promptly picked us up and drove us in to the airport . . . and here we wait. One thing about it, If you can't go to the mall or a street-side coffee shop in Nelson, BC the Calgary International Airport is not a bad place to people watch . . . . .
